In 1927, the "Blue-eyed Dolls" were given for friendship with Japan.

However, during the war with America that began in 1941, the Blue-eyed Dolls were called hated enemies of the country Japan was fighting.

Afterwards, when a survey was taken to determine what happened to the Blue-eyed Dolls, the results showed that they were "burned, destroyed, and thrown away." Since many schools burned or threw away the 12,000 Blue-eyed Dolls, almost all of them disappeared.

However, the teachers at Nishimae Elementary School did not throw their doll away or burn it but rather preserved it. For this reason, the Blue-eyed Dolls saved by prior teachers are kept with care at today's Nishimae Elementary School.
