Blue-eyed Doll

The name of the Blue-eyed Doll at Hongo Elementary School is Mary Rowe.  She came to the school from America in 1927.  During World War II, the doll was kept safe by Satomi Akabane, the home economics teacher at the school.  After she passed away, the doll was returned by her family in 1986 to Hongo Elementary.
