The two photos at top are of the Friendship Doll given by America in the spring of 1927, when the school was called Hotta Daiichi Common School. The photo above shows Jean, a second-generation doll, who was given to us in August 1991 when the family of Mr. Gulick, 3d, came here. |
In the fall of 1973, we celebrated the 100-year commemoration of our founding. While trying to put together an album and a historical table by looking over some of the books and other items that had been inside the old schoolhouse, we found an old doll inside a wooden chest underneath the schedule blackboard in the staff room. That was the Blue-eyed Doll Mary.
