The Blue-eyed Doll
Scene 2

In the evening, Mr. Kato took down the box containing the doll from an old, large bookcase in the teachers' room.

Mr. Sugawara: "Mr. Kato, do you want me to light the fire now to burn the trash?"

The janitor asked whether it was OK to get ready to burn the doll.

Mr. Kato: "Go on ahead, Mr. Sugawara."

He opened the lid, and the two men peeked inside the box.
