The 12,739 dolls sent by American children to Japan brought great joy to Japanese children. Below are a few of the thousands of thank-you letters that came to America, all written by hand on Japanese paper, delicately decorated. Many letters were also written by Japanese children to accompany the 58 Friendship Dolls sent to America in November 1927.
